A letter from Dave

Dear friend,

Thank you for stopping by. I believe God is calling me to plant a church in Oldtown, and I hope you will consider joining in this work.

I am starting from scratch: no launch team, no building, no outside support. What I do have is a conviction, a shop ready for first gatherings, and a household that has already committed its tithe to this work.

I have wanted to live in North Idaho for twenty years. When God finally opened the way for us to move here, we took it.

My hope is a thick, resilient Christian community—what I call a Christian borough: people who open the Scriptures together, eat together, carry one another’s burdens, and stay put through the long winters. I want care for hurting people to be one of the first things neighbors learn about this church.

The pages linked below lay out the vision, the place, the plan, and what it will cost. If something here moves you to pray, to give, or to come, I would be grateful for a conversation.

“So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves.”

1 Thessalonians 2:8 (ESV)

With gratitude,

Dave Whalen
